Card of Thanks

WORDS ALONE cannot express our heartfelt thanks while mom was at home, when she entered the hospital and up to her death. Thank you for the visits, flowers, cards, food, phone calls, and words of concern and kindness. Thank you to Dr. Sheets, the nurses and the aides for the wonderful care during her last days in the hospital, to Charlie and Deb Armstrong for their help and guidance, to Pastor Brad for his words and prayers, to the Waldheim ladies for the delicious dinner, to the Neil Tangen family for opening the church parking lot and shoveling the sidewalks at the church. To my colleagues at ADM for letting me have time off to spend the last few days with mom. If we have forgotten to mention anyone, we apologize. What a great community we live in! Thank you and may God Bless.

THANK YOU I would like to thank Sheila Bergemann for the 911 call that she made to get me to the hospital on time when I fell in my house as a blood clot had moved to the vein of the lung. A big thank you to Dr. Sheets-Olson and Meredith Kelsen for treating the problem and transferring me on to MeritCare in Fargo. After a week at MeritCare I am back in Lisbon Area Health Services getting stable. Thank you Matt, Sherry Easterday, Curt Gregor, Tore Bratvold, Kevin Evenson, Bob Jordheim, and Tim Jordan from the police department for your quick response. Thanks to Norm Anderson for your prayers, all the visitors that stopped, all the cards, gifts and flowers that were brought to the hospital and everyone’s comforting words. Thank you so much.

THANK YOU I want to thank all my friends and relatives for the cards, visits, and gifts you gave me while I was hospitalized in the Lisbon hospital and then in the swing bed unit. I feel I got the best care I could have received anywhere. The personnel were all so friendly and accommodating. The meals were good too. Then on Saturday night, Jan. 30, my 86th birthday, my family came to my home with a pizza supper, cake and ice cream, and presents. I’m so thankful for my caring family. I received so many birthday cards in the mail with many heartfelt messages. To add to the celebration, my granddaughter, Kayla Zimbelman, daughter of Renee and Terry of Oakes, came home from Afghanistan after a year long service there.

THANK YOU to everyone who prayed with us while Mom was in the hospital and cried with us when we lost her Christmas Eve. For all the kind words, hugs, visits, flowers, cards and prayers, thank you. Pastors John and Norm, we deeply appreciate all your wisdom, prayers and words of kindness, your presence was like a gift to Mom and to us. We want to recognize the Lisbon Area Health Services medical and nursing staffs for their professionalism and expertise, and even more for their extra gentleness and caring. Thank you all for taking the extra time to read cards and books, and sing to our mom, it gave her great comfort. I can only hope you all know how much I appreciate everything you did for my mom, because it’s so hard for me to put into words. Thank you to all the wonderful friends and relatives for visits and hugs, cards, food and flowers, stories and tears after her death. Thank you to the United Methodist Church ladies for serving a delicious lunch. And a special thank you to Charlie and Debbie Armstrong, who so gently helped us through one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life. We also want to extend a very special thank you to Mom’s sister, our Aunt Dorothy, and her husband Uncle Don, for all the love and encouragement that we needed so much these last couple months.
